The Sandhills, closer angle
The main feature of this is a fantastic piece of a tree trunk, which reminded me of a Sandhill Crane in flight, a bird which seems like a pterodactyl--prehistoric. I removed the sap/pitch and insects, the latter responsible for some of the fantastic texture on the wood; and I also did some wire brushing. The Sandhill cranes are made of wire, wax and fibreglass filament. The bird in the centre is doing a "dance" to attract the female on the left.
