Rob Ford sculpture by Brooke Johnson
Admiral Oberdorfer

This sculpture has moving parts, and is made mostly from marine engine parts*. There is a penguin "operator" in the hat, and the automaton-style figure rotates on the sledge, and the head also rotates. The rear wheels are spreaders from the burner-heads of a gas stove;there's a battery-powered neon-like thin tube of light inside the head/hat area. *'Oberdorfer' bronze water-pump housing from our generator; nose-cone & pinion shaft/Bendix gear from stern-drive starter; shifter-throttle assembly.
